 Maureen "momo" Freehill, MFA, long-time creative collaborator with Deborah Koff-Chapin from Washington State, is offering an introductory workshop "The Art of BUTOH: Dancing Freely with Nature & Life" on Friday April 1 @ 5:30-7:30pm in Sarasota; followed by a live performance. Maureen is Artistic Director of MomoButoh International Dance Company with 30 years experience as performer, educator & director of body-based practice & performance. Creator of YearOfButoh & DailyDance™ projects (http://dailydance.net/); LifeArtMastery™ Instructor & Personal Mentor for leading Expressive Arts practitioners worldwide (http://lifeartmastery.com/); Holds MFA from U of Hawaii & Certifications in Yoga, Hypnotherapy & Dance Therapy. Faith goes by the name of various religions and philosophies that help us deal with life’s questions and sustain us through the ups and downs of everyday life. Christmas, Hanukkah, and other celebrations make December a month of giving and sharing so we have decided to hold this performance as a benefit for Childhaven based in Seattle. The money donated to Childhaven will go towards their operational expenses. Our intention is to share an uplifting performance while benefitting children in need.
